Are cars that are 25 years old exempt from emissions testing?

This is for a Connecticut driver.

They’re exempt, but must maintain all their emissions equipment regardless.

And you could have looked it up, yourself. Took 5 seconds.

Emissions Testing in Colorado?

Posted by admin on April 10th, 2010 and filed under emissions testing | 1 Comment »

I am due for emissions again this year…not good with 37" MTRs! The last time I went down to Performance in Aurora and rented tires for the day..does anyone know if that’s still the only place that rents? I live up in Westminster so anything closer would be ideal. Thanks!
The Colorado Emissions testing facility can only accomodate up to 33" tires in the dynotrack. My tires are too wide to fit so they can’t test it.

If your wheels are street legal, I don’t see what that would have to do with "emissions" test, unless you mean it won’t fit in the bay. I believe they would have another section where they could stick the tube up the tail pipe.

Does anyone know how much the average emissions testing station cost to build?

Posted by admin on March 11th, 2010 and filed under emissions testing | 1 Comment »

Excluding equipment in the shop.

you’ve got a really tough question. I found a whole lot of stuff about testing and what that cost, but I know that because I live in an emissions testing state. What I did find was a reference to building a diesel testing station which would close to what a regular testing station costs now, but the number varied from ! mil to 7 mil which is a big gap. Check the web site out. Hope this steers you closer to your answer.

Emissions testing question?

Posted by admin on February 19th, 2010 and filed under emissions testing | 2 Comments »

My car needs an emissions test this year, but will it pass if the engine has a bad bearing on it? I know it’s a bad bearing, because after a few minutes of driving the car, it starts to make this strange wailing noise.

assuming its a bearing, IF it even makes it to etest, that shouldnt affect the outcome of the test but you should get that fixed it could let go at anytime

Will an O2 sensor delete on a 98 mustang gt make it pass emissions testing?

Posted by admin on February 17th, 2010 and filed under emissions testing | 3 Comments »

i have a 98 gt 4.6..if i put an o2 sensor delete kit on my car and it makes the check engine light go off bc it is blocking the codes to the computer would it pass a Tn state emissions test??

nope…..well maybe…not supposed to because the scan is supposed to test the sensors…but might fall thro the cracks….

Will you fail emissions test if there is one code in the computer?

Posted by admin on February 13th, 2010 and filed under emissions testing | 2 Comments »

My check engine light is not on and all monitors are ready. There is one P0128 code in the computer. Will this computer clear itself out if the condition no longer exists? Will I fail an emissions test just as is?

if the Check engine light is OFF you are passing emissions. Your P0128 code is just a stored code from an event that happened apparently.

heres what happened and why you got a P0128

How to pass emissions test by running alchol?

Posted by admin on February 11th, 2010 and filed under emissions testing | 1 Comment »

ive heard i can pass the emissions test by mixing my gas with alchol. how exactly do i do this.
what kind of alchol, where can i get it, and how much alchol to gas ratio.

Most gasoline already has alcohol mixed in, it’s called ethanol, and you cannot run too much or it will ruin the engine, unless the car is designed for the "flex fuel".
Add to much alcohol and the engine will not run correctly resulting in the check engine light being on, and no pass the test.

Does the owner of the car have to be the one present at the emissions testing?

In other words, can I do the emissions testing for a car under my dad’s name? We live in Washington state.
I just realized the top and bottom questions have contradicting answers, so please clarify which you’re saying yes or no to. Otherwise, I’ll assume you’re answering the bottom question.

that should be ok.
