If the environment is polluted, why is the highest content of pollutants contained in the organisms that occupy the top of the food pyramid? Sorry about the grammar. Pls help!

Which food pyramid? They’ve changed it like a million times, because no one can agree on what’s best. I hope your teacher didn’t write this question, cuz if so, you’re not likely to get much out of that class. Did you mean to say food CHAIN? If so then that’s because the ones on therop eat everything below them. If a fish eats algea, and then a bird eats the fish, and then a snake eats the bird, and so on and so forth, then the last animal to eat is getting a little bit of all the others. (This is a bull $@&! answer to a bull $@&! question)

If you really did mean pyramid and If your looking at one of the traditional pyramids, the top layer is the one you eat the least amount of. Again - cant really help unless I know which pyramid your looking at.
