How long before I can reregister it?

Depends on your state.

Good Luck…

How do I know if an auto repair side business is reliable and trustworthy?

Posted by admin on October 29th, 2009 and filed under auto repair | 2 Comments »

I was in an accident damaging the right rear quarter panel of a 2000 Mercury Cougar, and am looking into side businesses to repair it. I have found a few that can do it relatively fast and cheap. They have references that claim good work, but is there a way for me to know if they are for real? Better Business Bureau doesn’t have them listed… any help?

Go to www.clickandclack.com. They are a local team of brothers who answer car related questions on the radio(maybe you’ve heard of them?). In any case, they have a spot on their web page that can refer you to a trust worthy mechanic in your area. All their data is from other people in the same position as you. Good luck!

Is there a way to extract specific text from a larger block of text in excel 2007? Use of macros is allowed.?

Posted by admin on October 29th, 2009 and filed under red apple falls | 2 Comments »

Id’s are in a format as such ##-#### (two numbers, a dash, and a few more numbers). Normally I could use a search function to find the dash within the text and extract the id to compare except this time the text block that I am searching through also contains many other dashes so I get false positives. An example would be to extract 07-8990 from:

the red apple fell off of the tree on 1-10-2009. The id number of the tree is 07-8990. It needs to be replanted on 10-10-2010.

or something like that. I am open to using vba or normal excel functions to pull the ID out.

Thanks

Here is a custom function that will get the ID from your text string. It will find the first "word" in your text that only has one dash. A "word" is any contiguous text or numbers separated by spaces.

To install the custom function…
Alt+F11 to open the VBA editor
From the VBA menu, select Insert\ Module
Paste the code below in the edit window.

Back in Excel…
If your text is in cell A1, use this formula to get the ID
=GETID(A1)

Function GETID(rng As Range) As String
Application.Volatile
Dim sWords() As String, i As Integer
sWords = Split(rng, " ")
For i = LBound(sWords) To UBound(sWords)
If Len(sWords(i)) - Len(Replace(sWords(i), "-", "")) = 1 Then
If Not IsNumeric(Right(sWords(i), 1)) Then
sWords(i) = Left(sWords(i), Len(sWords(i)) - 1)
End If
GETID = sWords(i)
Exit For
End If
Next i
Erase sWords
End Function

What is the main source of pollutants that cause acid rain?

Posted by admin on October 27th, 2009 and filed under pollutants | 3 Comments »

I need to know for my science project!

Acid rain is rain or any other form of precipitation that is unusually acidic. It has harmful effects on plants, aquatic animals, and infastructure. Acid rain is mostly caused by human emissions of sulfur and nitrogen compounds which react in the atmosphere to produce acids

Acid rain" is a popular term referring to the deposition of wet (rain, snow, sleet, fog and cloudwater, dew) and dry (acidifying particles and gases) acidic components. A more accurate term is “acid deposition”. Distilled water, which contains no carbon dioxide, has a neutral pH of 7. Liquids with a pH less than 7 are acidic, and those with a pH greater than 7 are basic. “Clean” or unpolluted rain has a slightly acidic pH of about 5.2, because carbon dioxide and water in the air react together to form carbonic acid, a weak acid (pH 5.6 in distilled water), but unpolluted rain also contains other chemicals.[1]

H2O (l) + CO2 (g) → H2CO3 (aq)
Carbonic acid then can ionize in water forming low concentrations of hydronium ions:

2H2O (l) + H2CO3 (aq) CO32- (aq) + 2H3O+(aq)
The extra acidity in rain comes from the reaction of primary air pollutants, primarily sulfur oxides and nitrogen oxides, with water in the air to form strong acids (like sulfuric and nitric acid). The main sources of these pollutants are industrial power-generating plants and vehicles.

is there a test that can prove that i have only slept with one guy?

Is it okay for people to test drive cars they are only just browsing?

Posted by admin on October 25th, 2009 and filed under test only | 7 Comments »

I’m always interested in trying out new cars but am not considering buying one yet. I’m not even talking about test driving a few to see which one I should buy but just plain test drive them and then walk away with an experience. Would this be something that car dealerships are ok with?

Why would you waste a salesman’s time and energy?? They literally ‘eat what they sell’, and every minute you are keeping them off the lot, you are wasting their money making time.

Is working for a car dealer much profitable in the U.S than own auto repair shop?

Posted by admin on October 25th, 2009 and filed under auto repair | 2 Comments »

Have just migrated to the U.S. and looking for jobs as Master service Tech. Do you think working for a dealer is worth than setting up and operating my own service & repair auto shop would rather be more profitable? Would appreciate great inputs from all the experienced guys.Thanks.

Lots of regulation in the US. Have to deal with Environmental rules as well as rent and other expenses like liability insurance, plus bill collection, etc. Lots of less headaches if you work for a garage first, then at least you will know what you are getting into plus you will have benefits like health insurance etc.

Is it about time this came out? Some Jehovah’s Witnesses want more than to leave Watchtowers ?

Towns where Alleged Jehovah’s Witness Child molesters have been reported to silentlambs

Home

Listed by each state

If you would to add a new listing contact silentlambs at info@silentlambs.org

The list below is designed to alert you to a possible danger in your community. Over the course of the last four years silentlambs has been a repository of reports on alleged Jehovah’s Witness child molesters. Victims have reported extensively on times, dates and places abuse occurred. We have wrestled with how to alert the public as well as members that may be in congregations where abusers have been reported.

We offer the following suggestions if you as a Jehovah’s Witness are in a town/congregation where a report has been made.

Do not allow your children to be alone with anyone in the congregation.
Escort your children to the bathroom during meetings and make sure no else is with them when using facilities.
Never allow your children to be alone in the car with anyone while in field service.
Do not allow any member to study with your child alone.
Avoid camping trips in which children go as a group with one or two adults.
Avoid baby sitters that are adult males.
At a get together watch your children and keep them in sight at all times.
Ask elders directly if they know of any abusers in your congregation, use specific names and note their reaction. They will not tell you directly but indirectly you can often figure out who it is. If one elder is less cooperative talk to another till you find out enough information to know the facts.
Check the local sex offender list in your area, type in the name of every person in your congregation to see if any are listed.
Notice any male member of the congregation that does not have privileges such as microphone or other duties around the congregation, especially if for a long period of time. They can offer talks on the TMS or sermons Service Meeting but are not allowed to conduct meetings. (This is only in case of a confessed child molester)
Note any member of the congregation that has children with sever rebellion or emotional problems.
Do not allow your children to have sleepovers with anyone.
Note members that the elders avoid having around their children.

If you are a member of the public and your community is on the list take the following steps to protect your family.

If Jehovah’s Witnesses call at your home never allow them in your home
If you do not wish Jehovah’s Witnesses to call at your home purchase a no trespassing sign and place it near your door. JW’s are instructing to only respect "no trespassing" signs any other variation will be ignored.
If you do not wish Jehovah’s Witnesses to call you can also call the local number and ask to be placed on the "do not call" list. They will note your home and check about once a year to make sure you wish to remain on the list.
If you choose to study with Jehovah’s Witnesses do so at a neutral location such as the local Kingdom Hall or in a public place.
Never allow your child to be alone with members or their children.
If you choose to attend meetings with Jehovah’s Witnesses then we suggest you follow the guidelines above for members.
Remember that most members are not aware of who the molesters are in their congregation according to church policy. They do not know.
If two Jehovah’s Witnesses call at your door one could be a child molester. According to church guidelines all confessed child molesters are required to have a partner when going door to door. If two Jehovah’s Witnesses appear at your door you might wish to ask if one or both are child molesters for peace of mind. Of course keep in mind if the person is an accused child molester they are allowed to work alone in the door to door work.

We hope this information is helpful and assists with the ultimate goal of silentlambs, protecting children. Check back as the list is updated on a regular basis.

What country is the pollution capital of the world ?

Posted by admin on October 23rd, 2009 and filed under pollution | 3 Comments »

America population is under 8% of the world population but we use 70 % of the worlds resources. Many say that America is indeed the leader of pollution I sthink we should put our selves in check first and elimanate projects and structures that create more pollution before we try to make other countries abide by what we want ..

China, India, & the U.S. - in particular, California.

How fast do they drive a car at the emissions testing stations?

Posted by admin on October 23rd, 2009 and filed under emissions testing | 2 Comments »

I tried to search this and got nothing. Thanks for any info you know.
I’m talking about miles per hour

It is a computer regulated course that varies speed and tops at 55MPH. ( the speed limit when the law was enacted)
